Chulo Pony

Heyy Everyone,

So I have been pretty busy this past week. There was a Sweet Sixteen to go to, plus hanging out with my friends and shopping (although I didn't really buy much, I looked around a lot and figured out what I want to get, which I will do a post about in August) anyway the weather has been not so great lately. It has been raining the past week, and it only got sunny yesterday, and now they are calling for more rain tomorrow. Which really sucks.

David Beckham has been in town as well as all the hot Tennis players. The Rogers cup is here, and I am going tonight for the semi finals, not that I really know anything about tennis, but my friend is a tennis player and she invited me so I said yes because it sounds like fun. So I'll let you know how that goes.
I am going to the Breaking Dawn event on Friday, it sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun. There is going to be a band playing as well as lots of other games and activities. I am going to either make a t-shirt that is Twilight related or I am going to wear a costume. I am thinking of going as Rosalie, but I am not sure what to wear for her. I was thinking a wedding dress, for those of you who have read the books you will know what I am talking about. However I am not sure where to get one, unless I just wear all white and a veil. That might work. I am really excited I can't wait to figure out how the series ends. It should be a really fun night, and I will post whatever I end up wearing. Team Edward all the way!

This week I decided to feature another Canadian Designer: Chulo Pony. They have a really pretty website, with great graphics. Chulo Pony is the fashion line of Canada's leading privately owned record label Nettwerk Music Group. The label was founded in 2002. Here are some of my favourite looks:

Chulo Pony has some really beautiful unique jackets. I love this three quarter length sleeved jacket. It has an amazing silk screen print on the back. It would look great dressed down with jeans or dressed up with a pencil skirt.

This top is simple and elegant. It has great flowing sleeves, but the bow in the front gives your waist definition.
This dress looks like something Blair would wear. I love the head band as well.

This vest is different then other vests that I have seen. I love the double ties in the front, it adds an interesting detail.

I really like the collar on this coat as well as the tie in the front.

This tank top is really pretty. I love the simplicity of the lace in the front, with the pop of colour from the print in the back. It would look great with a pair of jeans or wide leg trousers. It would also look really good underneath a jacket.

I really like the print of this dress, as well as the colour.

This black lace dress would look great with red accessories. It is so simple yet cute. I love this dress. The ruffles and the fabric make it very feminine, and the perfect summer dress.

I think that this piece is one of my favourites. I love the silk screen print of the bird on the front as well as the shape of the jacket.

This jacket is the same as above, expect in navy. I love how the gold bird pops against the navy jacket. It is beautiful.

This is Anne Heche from Men in Trees wearing Chulo Pony.
If you would like to see more check it out here.

Hayden Panettiere got her hair cut. I think I like it long a lot better. What do you think?

Anyway that is all for me for now. I hope everyone has an amazing weekend.
Love,
Belle

Allison Wonderland and Broken Doll Clothing

Heyy Everyone,
So the other day family friends came over and one of them had gotten some clothes from someone, and they got a pair of Mavi jeans, but they didn't fit them. So they brought them for me, and they fit. I was very very very happy. I got a pair of jeans for free and they fit like they were made for me.

Allison Smith designs the Canadian line Allison Wonderland. She was raised in BC, and started her line in 1998. Here are some of my favourites from the Spring/Summer '08 collection:

This dress has a great print, and it is light and fresh for summer.

I love the opening in the back of this dress. I also like the black and white design of the fabric.

I like the belted waist of this top and the print.

Broken Doll Clothing is designed by Leah Bohnet. In high school she used her fellow students to test her designs on.

I really like the layered skirt on this dress.

I love the plunging neckline on this dress.

The red band in this dress really helps to bring out the pattern in the rest of the dress. It is hard to tell from this picture, but its a floral pattern.

I love this print, it is my favourite by far. Its so fun and bright. I really like the back of the top.

I love how simple this top is, yet it can be dressed up.

I really like the blue and red colour combination in this dress.

This dress would look great with bright accessories.

Summer School Homework Week 2

Heyy Everyone,
So its week 2 of Mary's summer school. You can check it out here. The post was very thought provoking and was very well done. I really enjoyed it. She gave out homework once again.
The first item of homework was to eat something different for breakfast. As a rule I love breakfast, it is my favourite meal of the day and I can't function without it. I pretty much always eat plain Cheerios with chocolate milk. Which when I tell people this they go "eww gross" but seriously its really really good. Anyway, I have been told that Yogurt with cereal is really good, but I haven't tried it. So I took this as an opportunity too. It was pretty good. I don't have a picture but I found these online:

My room wasn't extremely messy, as my mom makes me clean it. Haha. But my closet was in need of a cleaning so I cleaned that out, and got rid of a bunch of purses that I no longer use, along with a few tops that are too small.

I decided to cover this bangle:

I never really liked it, it was always an ugly faded yellow colour. So after looking in magazines for some inspiration. I found some ribbon covered bangles in an old Elle Girl. So I decided to cover this bangle in ribbon. This is how it turned out:

I think it is a major improvement from the yellow. Now I want to buy some more cheap bangles to cover, in different colour ribbon. Tissue paper might also be nice. I shall have to try it.

I am going to try to give up swearing. Lately it seems I have been swearing more, and honestly there really is no reason too. I know that it takes about 21 days to make a habbit, but I'm not sure how long it takes to break one. I think it might be about 30 days but it just depends. So it is somthing that I am going to have to work on.

Next I researched hydrogenated oils, and the first website I came across called them Silent Killers, so that was very reassuring. Haha.
Hydrogenated Oils form Trans fatty acids which the body does not know how to break down. Which can cause the body to produce abnormal or deformed cells. Crisco, often used in baking, is basically a lump of hydrogenated oil. Yummy. I'm not sure if I answered the question that was asked, but basically it's a lot of scienctificness, on the websites. The main point is that they are bad for you, can cause cancer and other diseases.

Here are 7 Random facts about me:
1)My favourite subjects in school are science and math. Most people hated going to science class but I loved it. Math was a different story, I hated my teacher.
2) I love bright orange nail polish, and have 4 or 5 different nail polishes that are just slightly different in colour.
3) I watch endless hours of the food network, hoping that one day I will be able to cook like that.
4)I find something very satisfying about eating junk food while watching The biggest loser, X weighted or some other weight loss show.
5) I hate pop, coffee, ice tea, and lemonade. Ya I'm very picky when it comes to beverages.
6) I am allergic to perfume.
7) I wear glasses.
It's hard to think up random facts about yourself when you try. Anyway, I hope everyone has a good week, and I should be back sometime this weekend with another post.
Love,
Belle

11 July 2008

but there was no Kirk...

Heyy Everyone!
So I have been in driving school this past week, which explains my slight lack in posting. I have been learning all about becoming a good driver, it was pretty dull, but I know that it's important. I can't wait for the in-car lessons (the fun stuff!). Plus the girl to guy ratio in the class was pretty unbalanced there were like three guys to every girl, that didn't hurt.

I have finally gotten the third book to the Twilight Series. It is Eclipse. I am not finished it yet, I am about half way through and I am loving it. I like it better then New Moon for sure. There is going to be a Midnight Masquerade In-Store Event, for when Breaking Dawn comes out. I am thinking of going with a bunch of friends for fun, if I do, and I wear a mask I will post it here later. I think I might make a mask, I made one in grade eight for an art project, but I don't know where it is now, so I'll have to make another.

Now don't get me wrong I love Blake Lively and Gossip Girl, but honestly what is she wearing? It looks like a grey night gown to me.

Yesterday my friend and I went to "Stars Hollow" the fictional town from Gilmore Girls. She lives were the first few episodes were filmed, so we had to go and take some pictures. If you are not a huge Gilmore Girl fan, that is what my post title is referring too. The fact that there was no crazy towns people.

So this was Luke's. I don't know if you can see them but on the step are our "Luke's" coffee cups. Ya we're cool.

This is Lorelai's and Rory's house. I pretty much freaked out when I saw it.

I have been busy finding Canadian Designers to feature, and I have quite a few now, so expect posts! Today I am going to feature lily + jae.

It is designed by Jude Feller, who is a self described Tomboy, which you would never guess by the clothes. They are all very cute, and girly. As soon as I saw the pictures I loved them. They are designed for the prototypical girl next door. lily + jae has been seen on stars such as Lily Allen and Amy Smart. Here are some of my favourites:

This sweater looks so comfortable and it is really cute. I am also loving the red flats.

Very simple, yet cute sundresses.

I am in love with the trench coat. I want it, no need it. I love the red heart on the collar, I think its so cute.

Some wide leg pants, I really like the colour, its different and very pretty. I am also loving the bag.

I hope you all have a good weekend. Check back on Tuesday for my Homework from Mary's Summer school.
Love,
Belle

Cultu(red) Challenge Homework

Heyy Everyone,
So Hail Mary has a summer challenge going, and I decided to join. Check it out here. So she gave out homework, and when you think of homework it is automatically a negative thought, well for me at least. However Mary had eating an ice cream Sunday on her homework list, and I don't know about you, but that seemed like some pretty good homework to me. So I decided to give the homework and the Challenge a try.

Here are my 10 pictures of thing that I really like/ that appeal to me:
I have been playing around with my new camera, so some of the picture are better then others. I was having fun trying it out, while doing this homework. They look better when they are bigger.

I took this photo on vacation (is that cheating?) I am quite proud of it though.
Pretty flowers; there was a bee on them, and it would have been a really cool picture. Except the bee got mad when I tried to take the picture, and I didn't feel like risking getting stung.
My Grandmother has this tree in her backyard that has some sort of berry like fruit on it. Anyway every summer we pick them straight off the tree and eat them. They are quite good.
I have always wanted to take a picture of a tree while I was lying down looking up. I am very pleased with this picture, although it is slightly blurry. However that didn't stop me from making it my desk top back ground.
An unripe tomato 'cause hey why not right?

A candle stick, that makes me think of that poem: Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack jump over the candle stick.
A really old pair of my skates. They are all scratched, but I still love them dearly. My old, first and only, pointe shoes. I went up on pointe, but because of my bad ankel I had to quit a year later, I then just did ballet (not on pointe) and then it got boring becuase I couldn't be in all the dances, so I quit.
Shells!
My puppy!

My poem about anything:

So I typed it out and then printed it on blue paper and scanned it back onto my computer, because I wanted it to look like a tear. So you might have to click on it to read it. I know its not great, I have never been really good at poetry, but I wanted to try.

My Ice cream Sunday:

So I didn't have chocolate sauce or smarties, but I did make homemade strawberry sauce, and I'm betting it was just as good.

My very yummy smelling body wash:

I get bored of the same body wash all the time, so I have many different ones that I buy from the Body Shop when ever they are on sale. I just started using one like this but it is the cranberry scent, its from their Christmas line. Shhh...

So I have been trying to run at least three times a week all summer, but it hasn't happened yet. I'm lucky if I run once a week. So I don't know if that can really count as completing my homework. I did however map out a route at MapMyRun.com check it out, its a pretty cool site, with some great features, I used it a lot when I did Track during the school year.

Another piece of homework was to comment on others blogs, which I have been doing.

Anyway now that I finished my homework, I am going to go and sit outside and enjoy some of the sunshine, I might even eat another one of those Sundays (Can you tell that I love ice cream.)

Enjoy the beautiful sunshine,
Belle
