Nude Nails

OPI - My Vampire is Buff
I would really like to know who comes up with the names for nail polishes. Seriously. How can I get that job.

I was at the salon getting my nails done and I was reading (ok skimming) Hello Magazine. Apparently Nude Nails are in. I tend to go with a lighter colour on my nails anyways and decided to try OPI's My Vampire Is Buff . It has a putty like colour and I was very happy with the results.

What do you think of the nude nail trend?

Manicure: bordeaux

I went to the grocery store the other day and just happened to walk by the pharmacy isle. I saw the rack of essie nail polishes and I just couldn't help myself. Plus it doesn't really count if I bought it at the grocery store...right.

I think that this is going to become my new favourite winter colour. Once I finish this post I am going to go paint my toe nails with it. Such a beautiful deep red colour. Perfect!

Miss Fancy Pants

I found a new favourite nail polish! I have been wearing Essie's Miss Fancy Pants for the past week and a half now. My nails chip and I take it off and then reapply it.

I love the purple undertones in this colour and the fact that it basically goes with pretty much everything! I think it is perfect for fall. Plus I can't help but love grey!

Penguin Nails

My Nail Inspiration:
The cutest penguins ever! From the biodome in Montreal. The Puffins were equally as cute.
The photo does not do them justice. They were so active, running all around their habitat. I wanted to take one home with me.

Anyways... here are my nails. I did them free hand.

Have a great monday!

Pastal Pink

Sweet Heart by OPI

Sometimes simple nails are best. My original plan was to make these a "french manicure" with a bright pink tip. Once I started painting them though and they dried, I liked how they looked and how simple they were, and decided just to leave them.  I love this pink colour by OPI. It is one of the few that I found that aren't transparent. It is a great colour that goes with everything.

Chevron Nails

I have a thing for painting my nails. I hate it when they are chipped and immediately have to redo them. I love trying new designs and usually do them free hand and get a little to ambitious. I however kind of like the way these turned out.  They aren't perfect but I love the colour combination of the grey (its more grey in real life), blue and white.

My first attempt at adding the pattern.

My right hand of course is a bit messier.

Nail It

I have an obsession with my nails. I hate it when they are chipped, and I am constantly redoing them. I love OPI polishes but just recently discovered essie polishes. I knew they existed but I had never tried them. I wanted a bright blue colour since I was going for a nautical theme at the time and couldn't find an OPI one that I liked, so I decided to go with this shade from essie.

I loved the colour so much that when the nautical design started to chip, I repainted them and added glitter to my ring finger. I used my Sally Hansen top coat (pictured above) as a glue to adhere loose MAC glitter I had from a long time ago.
